0Summary: Good burgers at a great price.
3.1
You have to be thankful when a new burger joint opens in your neighborhood. At this writing I’ve already visited twice to get a decent understanding of this new restaurant from founder Paul Harmon. This is one of two locations (Bloomington) with a few more to come.
The setup is similar to some of the other cafeteria style burger chains (Five Guys, Smashburger, In N Out), where you order at counter and then have your food delivered to you. I like these setups when I’m just looking for a quick burger fix. Why spend those extra dollars when all you want is a good and decent burger on the go but don’t want to have a ‘fast-food’ burger.
I’ve tried a few burgers so far. First an ordinarily plain burger with lettuce, tomato and onion. Followed by the Q Burger, a burger topped with smoked bacon, cheddar cheese, grilled onions and homemade barbecue sauce. Both burgers were cooked well, relatively juicy and tasty.
My daughter tried her own burger which she thoroughly enjoyed. After minutes of figuring out what to order she settled on her own burger with bacon onions and lettuce. As one with a much better palate, my daughter ranked our burgers just a hair above Five Guys.
Streetz is similar to a lot of restaurants popping up. You order at the counter and then have the food made fresh and delivered to your table. The prices also reflect this environment.
The Menu at Streetz includes burgers, hotdogs, sandwhicheds, shakes and drinks. According to one reviewer the philly cheese sandwich is the top item on their menu.
In regard to burgers they offer burgers made to order, several specialty burgers and for the more adventouros, Monster burgers that come with a variety of toppings. On a previous trip my lunch companion had the Monster Coney Burger, a burger topped with a hotdog, chili, chesse, and onions. Pass the Tums but he definitely enjoyed his lunch.
Prices are appropriate based on the fare. There is also the option of adding fresh-cut fries to your oder or fresh-cut sweet potato fries. The buns for the burgers are also top notch as they are provided by P.J. Murphy’s Bakery.
