0First Woman-owned Restaurant Takes Judge’s Title
Unlike last year’s torrential rain and wet swollen terrain, this year’s 5th Annual Twin Cities Burger Battle was held in reasonable dry and comfortable weather . Over 2,400 burger lovers cascaded upon Harriet Island for their chance to enjoy burgers from 24 local restaurants vying for the coveted Best Burger in the Twin Cities.
This year’s winner of the Judges Award for Best Burger went to the Suburban. The team of Cindy, Kelsey and Ashley Berset became the first woman-owned restaurant to win the title at Twin Cities Burger Battle for their Chimi My Churri Burger – an Angus beef patty with mango cilantro chimichurri, sweet chili sauce, bacon, American cheese, and raw onion.
Judge’s Award runner ups were McKinney Roe and Jellybean and Julia’s.
The People’s Choice Award went to B52 Burgers and Brew – the 2014 Judges Award Winner for the inaugural Twin Cities Burger Battle. They took first with their Cartlon Burger – a Hereford Beef patty with gruyere cheese, argula, jalapeno bacon jam, and herb mayo. Runner ups were Jellybean and Julia’s and Wild Boar.
